I did this little guy a while ago, lots of fun working with glass!
Not sure if you've read Robert Genn's recent post about Daily Painting, if not you might find it of interest. Check it out here. As you might imagine, I had a few things to say about it. You can see my comments, as well as a lot of other interesting ones, over on his site.

Hi Liz, really enjoying your work...so pleased you are a part of Daily Painter Originals with us.
ReplyDeleteLiz, thank you for balancing Robert Genn's post with your comments. I think he is missing some important aspects of the daily painting movement, and you have captured them with your usual understanding and style. I have learned so much with this approach, I only wish I had discovered it earlier.
ReplyDeleteReally like this one! I love blue, and the colors grab me. I looked for your comments on Robert Genn's site, but couldn't find them. I read a lot of other comments though. It is so true what the old song says....
ReplyDelete"the times they are a'changin'", and artists need to keep up with the times. I am finding the daily painting, or almost-daily painting to be very helpful. Subscribing to, and learning from so many other daily painters has helped me so much.
'scuse me while I pick my jaw up off of the floor. This is so beautifully painted! How on earth to you keep track of all of the angles and reflection going on in this glass? Really outstanding work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, love those reflections and blues.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the blue, and transparencies and says the quality of the artist.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Liz Wiltzen.
Beautiful painting Liz. The reflections and the transparent quality are stellar! Loved your comments in response to Robert Genn's letter. Those were all excellent and very valid points.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting of glass, Liz. Love the blue.

ReplyDeleteLiz, you are a wonderful addition to Daily Painter Originals, your work is incredible. I love your comments in response to R. Genn's article about daily painting. You are so right!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! I find the key to painting glass is simplfy! I don't try to paint every reflection, just a few key ones that tell the story.
ReplyDeleteNice of Bob Genn to offer a forum to express the value of Daily Painting, he likes to set the stage for these kinds of things. Bobbi, don't make the mistake of thinking he's shortsighted, far from it.
