Workshop demo

"Onion and Garlic"
Original Oil - 6x6"
Click here to bid (begins December 4th @ 7pm MST)

Quick post tonight - crunch time for my upcoming show, so that's where my focus is at the moment.

This is a demo from a workshop I taught last month, another variation of choosing like colored objects and background as a way to visually achieve lost edges.

As I was setting up the demo, one of the guys in my class (you know who you are Dave :), asked "What are those little white things?" Needless to say, surrounded by 6 women,  the stage was set for his downfall....

  1. I'm guessing Dave doesn't do his own cooking...

  2. Not only that, but they aren't white either! You can tell that by looking at your painting. I love all the color in it.

  4. Absolutely beautiful. Coincidentally, I just painted garlic in a bowl and now I've had an "aha" moment looking at yours. Back to garlic and painting!

  9. Thanks for your wonderful comments guys.

I often find workshop demos work well because I am focused on what I know rather than what I might not know...now why can't we just do that always?

  11. Liz this a magnificent piece! Wow! The subtle changes in colour and tone are beautiful. I find white challenging to paint, so I'll be looking at this frequently and in detail. Thanks!
